Blog #31: MY PASSION.

1.My passion is basketball. When i was little i was kind of forced to play because my family is a basketball family. Later in my life it grew on to me cause i got better and now i love and enjoy playing.
2. If im just fooling around or in an actual game, basketball takes my stresses away and gets my mind off of things! Last year basketball season as a team we won jv championships. we won becasue we all share the same passion and played with HEART!! basketball thought me how to persevere to the finish and team work. aslo it has taught me leadership skills too.
3. i want to get quicker so i can play great deffense, and learn more tricks to take people to the hoop :) i want to help my team to championship again next year and to increase my experience im going to keep practicing with my dad when no one is looking and hopefully play in some outside league teams.

ANGRY letter.

Dear Sacred Hearts Academy Athletic Department,

I have met many girls and made friends with girls who played basketball for your school. Your school seems to pull a good team together; a lot of heart; a lot of hustle and that's what everyone looks for when selecting a team.

Although, being apart of this year's 2009 Kaiser summer league basketball tournament, your team definitely showed how to play aggressively with physical contact. At a certain extent it is good because that's what basketball is about, but the aggressiveness and poor attitude of that game went too far. The actions we saw from your team were unbelievable especially for a private school which teaches good morals for life.

During the game Secred Hearts players were purposely flying elbows at our team and cleaning us out with no apologies. What was more shocking was seeing the coaches cheering their players on and gave them high fives during the times when our players were down and injured!! The parents, supporters, and other teams witness this as well.

For future purposes i encourage that you remind your players and coaches that the school has a good reputation and that they should have pride in their school. Therefore, show good attitude and sportsmanship on the court as well as, showing good manners by helping someone up after they clean them out and that they are representing the school as a whole.

Thank you for taking your time out to listen to my concerns. I hope you take my comments into considerance. I wish your team well this season. Goodluck :)

Sincerely,
Ciarah Canencia

thesis- the best way to cure abusive relationships is through counseling.
pros-
  1. compromise is an important aspect of a relationship. both have to want to work it out. even though it doesn't go all their way. the abuser has to learn to except the person the way they are. change will only come if they are willing to change their ways and or through acceptance.
  2. counseling helps if they both are willing to better themselves. also willing to take in advice, and to recognize what they are doing wrong or how they are being treated.

con-

  1. when aggressor suggest counseling most times it won't work because they could sit in their counseling classes/sessions all they want but not take in or admit to what they are doing. usually when the aggressor wants counseling it's not for them selves. it's to better their partner.
